One more day of being 21. That's strange. Man, I'm getting old. I think about that whenever I check I.D.'s for cigs. There's no way that kid is 18! But then he/she is. Amazing. Soooo....tomorrow a lot of people are doing fun things and I can't partake. I'm a little bummed....but there was no way I could've gotten the day off anyway, I saw that a month ago when I asked for my b-day and monday off. So that's ok, I suppose.

Again, I really have nothing to post. My life has gotten rather bland.

Now that we got that out of the way....Work today was just one of those days. I wasn't supposed to work until 4, but had to go in at 3. The new overnight dude's dad died and he can't work the next 4 days, so the manager has to work them...which meant I had to stay until midnight tonight. Puke. Although...that means I'll probably get overtime. Bonus. At any rate, that's all I got.

Well I finally got back to Steph Jones today. Since our work schedules are pretty much exactly the opposite, we're not going to hang out until this Monday. Oh well. Her and a bunch of people are going out Saturday night and I was invited, but I have to work as usual. That's ok, though. If she was going out then it would've been one of two groups: 1). Her college friends. B). Rockford folk. Now, I love being around Rockford people...but I've been out of contact with most of them for so long I don't know what to talk about. It's kind of lame to say "Hey, remember when we were in 7th grade......?" Yeah. And I don't mix well when I'm in a big group of people I don't know. On the other hand, going out and drinking is always fun. Oh well. It'll just be fun to hang out with Steph again. We've been friends ever since before Preschool, ya know. Yup.

Anyway....again, I have nothing to post. Man, I lead a boring life. In the month of July I read 12 books that were over 400 pages. Yeah. You do the math. So basically all I've done is go to work and read. But then you gotta take out the days that I was in Iowa, and the day I drove from Colorado to Northern MN. That's like over 200 pages a day. I love it. But now I'm on my last book from my fav. author. The dude that wrote all of these books. All war novels. I don't know what I'm going to do. Maybe I'll get off my lazy butt and write again. This has been one of the worst summers ever for writing. Hmmm....

Well tonight was definitely an interesting night. Who shows up at SA? None other than the infamous Ghetto Bowler. Totally by coincidence too...'cause he didn't know I had moved to a new location. So we talked for the better part of an hour, while I rang some people up...it was after 10, so it was pretty slow. Anyway, it comes up that he's going to a friend's house to go hang out with some buddies and invites me. Now, I maybe have met all of the people that were going to be there. But I doubt if they all remember me...and I've NEVER been in the same room with them all at once....so I really didn't feel the need to go. On the other hand, I probably would've just sat in my room like I always do after work...so I figured, what the heck? So I went over to this dude's house and hung-out with Ghetto Bowler's friends and had a pretty good time. Now the only problem is I'm still wide awake...normally I've wound down by now and am ready to go to bed.

In other news, literally, the gas station job just got a little more dangerous. Last night a gas station clerk at a store about 2 or 3 miles from mine (off of county road 42, in between Burnsville and Apple Valley) was found with a gun-shot wound to his head. Apparently he's still alive, so that's good. Tonight we had a brand-new overnight dude in training, though, and as the manager was explaining the incident, this guy looked like he was on the edge of tears. The 40-year-old-man looked at my manager and said like he was convincing himself "I'll be all right" I was embarressed for him. I mean, yeah...I'd NEVER work an overnight if I could help it. It's just always going to be dangerous. But then, working at a gas station is dangerous any time of the day. Working in any public place could be dangerous at any time of the day. Wasn't there a famous shooting in a McDonalds like 10 years ago? I think the gunner took out like 20 people. At any point in time, the wrong person could entire my store and that would be it. But you just don't think about it. There's nothing I could do to stop that person if they're determined to do something, so I don't worry. If you worry, then that's the end.

At any rate, that's the news from Lakeville. Where the women don't work, the men are pilots, and all the kids are spoiled brats.

I worked again today. It was....meh....but today was the first day that we could finally do something about drive-offs. I'm not sure if MN passed a new law, or if SA is finally going to let us take some action...but if we get a definite plate number and description of the car, then we're allowed to call the police. And you know what happens when the police I.D. the car? The owner's license is suspended for 30 days. Woohoo! At least we finally get to fight back. Not that I care that much, though...'cause I don't plan on being at SA too much longer. The rest of this summer, yeah....winter break for a week, yeah....and then one of our spring breaks...that's it.

Anyway, I really didn't have anything to post. I was just posting for the sake of posting. So peace out.

Well, I'm back from Iowa once again. The party was great. I think I have finally learned my lesson and paced myself and was able have a really fun night. I usually drink too much too fast and am out before midnight....like Nathan did. He had puked and passed out by midnight. Pretty poor performance on his part, I must say...I don't think I went to bed until after 3. Now, if I would only learn to stay off my stupid cell phone when I drink, I'd be in great shape. I called waaaaay too many people....waaaay too many times....and left waaaay too many messages that I don't remember. Kind of scares me a little...not gonna lie. But, ya know...what can I say? I don't really have a good excuse. Normally I plan ahead and just turn the stupid thing off, but I couldn't last night because there were so many people there and it was tough to find my roommates...so I was callin them. And then I ordered a pizza and walked the 3 blocks to go pick it up...and then I went to the bar and was there long enough to have a free jager-bomb and to realize that the last place I wanted to be was at the bar...so I had to walk aaaaall the way back by myself. Good times. Anyway....

Yeah, it was good to see them again. Now I just gotta make it through this last looong month without much contact with my friends from Wartburg. Stinky stinky stinky. Oooh! Steph Jones called me tonight. I didn't answer because I was in the video store, but I knew what she was calling about....and sure enough, she wants to do something with me for my birthday this week. Problem is, I'm sure I have to work 3-11 for the next 5 or 6 days, 'cause then I asked for the days around my birthday off. And that's just the way it'll work. Oh well.

Stupid, stupid cell phone. That's all I gotta say. Stupid, stupid, stupid cell phone. Jeeeeezzzzz......
