Man, these past few days have been a little bit of a rollercoaster. I was talking with one of my friends that did Wartburg West this summer and she did the internship that I was looking at....but then she told me some bad news.....I needed a car to get to the place. ARGH!!! So then I emailed my prof.'s out there and they told me that I could take a bus within 1/2 mile of the internship, but it was moot anyway 'cause the place couldn't guarantee a spot for me quite yet...so now we're looking at another place....so I guess I'll have to go with this other internship...oh well.
Sorry for the lack of posts...with all of these roommates (I'm living with 7 other guys, if you didn't know) we find a lot of stuff to do. Like, we have a fooseball table here....I've gotten pretty good, I must say....and I dunno....we play a lot of sports.....but it's harder to find time to post as opposed to when I only had one roommate, ya know? There's a lot less quiet time. It's always busy and noisy and something going on from when you get up until when you go to bed.
We were planning on having a little party tonight, but our room is a huuuge mess. Next weekend is Homecoming for us, and one tradition here is all of the rooms that have large windows that face the street, paint their windows....so that's what we're in the process of doing. The team we're playing is Luther, the Norse or whatever....so on our 3 big windows, we have a giant Wartburg "W" in the middle, and then a Knight riding a horse (we're the Knights) and the horse has a smurf in it's mouth. And then on one side it says "USE THE FORCE, PUMMEL THE NORSE" and then on the other, "RIDE YOUR HORSE, BEAT THE NORSE." There's a little inside joke with that second one....because when we were trying to think of words that rimed with Norse, one of the words was "whores".....and "horse" sounds like "whores"....and then plus, the Wartburg "W" lines up with "horse"....so I dunno....we think it's funny. yea....anyway, time for class.

Let's see. This weekend I had band bonding, which is an annual band event where both concert bands go out to a boy scout camp and get to know each other and play games and then spend the night there and then come back saturday afternoon. I was kinda bummed out to go 'cause all of my roommates where going to go get beer as I left. And I knew they were going to have an awesome time that night. I guess I still had a lot of fun....more than I thought I would. The best was that night. The guys were supposed to sleep in these cabins...but they were way hot. And it was a cool 70 degrees outside, with a little breeze. So I convinced 2 fellow trombone guys to sleep outside with me. It was a lot of fun...even though it got down to about 40 degrees around 3a.m....and that was a little cold....but who cares! It's things like that that make great memories!
Then on Saturday night, I didn't feel like drinking at all....but I still went out and got a 12 pack, just in case. I probably had like 3 beers all night, but that was because I was walking all over the place and visiting people....and then at about midnight, a I went with a friend to a towny bar to listen to her boyfriend's band play. She's a fun girl...but is an RA, so she really can't party on campus. So I try to go visit her and drink with her as much as possible. After about an hour at the bar, we left...but weren't really tired, so we walked down the train tracks on the edge of campus and talked and whatnot for a good hour...and then she went to her boyfriend's room and I was planning on going to bed. But I met two of my roommates coming out of our dorm with another guy and 3 girls. They wanted to play sand volleyball (yes, at 2a.m.), so I went with them...but the outside lights wouldn't come on...so we went back about 40 minutes later....only to find about 5 more people in our room....to make a long story short, I didn't go to bed until about 4a.m.! But then, for some odd reason...since I ALWAYS like to sleep in....I got up at 9:30. It was weird. But I managed to watch 6 hours of football before I did my homework. It was good.
Tonight was just a lot of nothing. We played sand volleyball again tonight....it is seriously so much fun...I haven't played this much since the summer after my 7th grade year, when my older brother came home for a month from West Point. I was really crappy at the end of last year, but more practice this year has made me at least decent.....but I can still see my teammates laughing at me when I do something especially stupid. oh well...I still have fun.
Right now my roommates have a bunch of people over and are drinking YET AGAIN! My goodness....of course, if I didn't have a class at 7:45 tomorrow morning, I probably would be too! Hahahaha....so goes college.
At anyrate, I'm really going to go to bed. This year is sooo different from last year! Last year I never went to bed before 2a.m. Now I ALWAYS go to bed early. Wowzas! GO TWINS!
