so I have this conundrum. At foozy's wedding, I met this girl. We hung out and whatever....and I got her number and it was cool. But here's the problem: First of all, she's not from MN...she lives in NYC. The other problem is that she is a good friend of my new sister-in-law, and I don't really think it would be a good idea to just blow it off, and become "that guy." The third problem....small as it may be....is that she is about 5 - 6 years older to me.....ok, that isn't a problem...that's just cool. Seriously though...I dunno if she just gave me the number to be nice and she didn't expect me to call or what. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and call her up tomorrow afternoon.
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world

Alright, I know i promised a big summery of the past week...I'll try my best. Thursday morning, our family left for Lutsen MN for my bro's (for the sake of simplicity, we'll call him foozy, since that's his nickname around the family) wedding. Foozy and I drove together and we had to pick up two of the bridesmaids at the Duluth Airport, so we didn't get to the Lutsen resort until around 5:30 pm. Our family and several others stayed in 2 bedroom log cabins. Everyone else stayed in the main lodge, in rooms that are like any other hotel....only in a "woodsy" atmosphere.
That evening, we grilled out and my other brother (again, for the sake of simplicity, I'll refer to him as rinky...'cause that's a nickname he has) and I went exploring. We found about 30 golf balls washed up on the shore of Lake Superior on a secluded beach. It was pretty cool. We spent some time skipping rocks 'cause the water was super calm and the rocks were really smooth. Rinky got a 25 skipper and I got about a 15'er. That was fun. That night me, foozy, and rinky stood out on our deck and looked at the moon shining on the water and drank some brews. It was good to be with my brothers again after so long.
Friday rinky, his wife, and I went to Grand Marais, which is about 20 miles north of Lutsen, and went exploring again...and climbed across a ton of rocks to get to a lighthouse. Then we went back home to get ready for the grooms dinner that night. The dinner was about 10 miles farther north than Grand Marais...which meant that we were REALLY close to being in Canada. The dinner was alright, but the only people I knew at my table was foozy and his fiance. But it was good to meet some new people and I talked with foozy's friends from college. After the dinner, we had a bonfire down by the lake. We had to change before we got all smokey, plus foozy and I had to bring our share of beer down to the lake. As we were loading up the picnic basket (it was the only thing we could find to carry the beers), my dad was like "oops, you don't have anything for Corey"...so I grabbed a Sprite...but then left it outside our cabin, thinking that I would bring it back in when I got back. Yea, it wasn't there anymore when we got back...which totally meant my parents knew I was drinking...and they didn't say anything, so that was cool. The bonfire was alright. Again, I didn't know anybody, but I met knew people. I wanted to go into the lake, and so me, rinky, foozy, and another guy went down to the water, took off our pants and waded in. Yea...it definitly felt like the 37 degrees the weather man said it was.
Saturday was the wedding and most definitly the best day...for several reasons. We went golfing in the morning and that was fun, even though I'm pretty crappy at golfing. The wedding was supposed to be outside, but it was raining, so we had it inside. I was the Best Man, in case I hadn't told ya yet. The ceramony was good, the reception was good..but I was getting kinda tired. The dance was by far the best. Plus, I got to drink and socialize with the people I had gotten to know over the previous 2 days, in addition to people from Rockford and family that I hadn't seen in a few years. I hung out the most with this girl named Kari from New York city...she was like 26....and we danced a lot....it was awesome. The rest of the night was even better....
Sunday was kinda boring, but I got to spend some good quality time with my cousins that I hadn't seen in soooo long. I wish I would've had more time with them, but fortunately, one of my cousins is getting married in Chicago in mid-July...so I'll see them all again in a little over a month.
Monday we came home, then yesterday and today I went back to work at SA. For some reason, after the wedding, I've been feeling a little....lucky....so I've boughten some lottery tickets (which I rarely do anymore) and won a total of 10 bucks of of $4 worth of tickets...awesome. Alrighty peeps...I did my duty and wrote this HUGE post and filled you all in. I'm gonna go to bed. Peace out.
