Alright, that person did call last night....my bad...again.
Man was I lazy today! I got up and put the roast in the crockpot at 9ish and then went back to bed....and didn't get up until almost 1p.m. After that I made some lunch and laid out on the deck for an hour because it was hot and beautiful. Not a cloud in the sky. I probably should've gone to the driving range, but I really didn't feel like it. After that, I just dinked around on the computer for a while and didn't really do much. Finally, I decided I should probably take a shower, but then I glanced outside and thought that I could do some work outside first. So I mowed the lawn and weed whiped, which only took like 10 minutes. But I wasn't satisfied. Even though the lawn is starting to get green again and it was all mowed and trimmed up neat, the large weeds sticking out of the rocks surrounding the lawn bothered me. So I scrounged around the garage until I found a pair of work gloves and spent some time pulling weeds. Now the front yard almost looks presentable. It needs a woman's touch....some flowers and whatnot, but that's not going to happen while I'm there. Plus, the tree in the front is dead. I need to take care of that as well....but other than that it looks good.
So yeah....I made my roast today. For some reason, whenever I try to reproduce my mother's cooking it just doesn't turn out that great. I think the problem today was that the roast was just too darn big, but it was the smallest I could find. So yeah, it was decent, but definitely not as good as it could've been. I give the meal a "B". It did fill me up, though. And I have plenty of leftovers, so that's good, I guess. Anywhoo...it looks like the Twinkies might finally win again...so I better watch this last little bit. peace out.

President Clinton was on Letterman tonight. Even though the majority of the show was all about Clinton's heart surgery, towards the end of his time he started discussing Iraq and his stances on everything. I must say....Clinton was sooooo much better than the president we have now. Clinton can actually intelligently articulate what he's trying to say. I mean, it's amazing how much better of a "stage presence" Clinton has, as opposed to Bush. Not a whole lot of people would like to tune into Letterman to watch and listen to a serious conversation, but I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed it.
In other news, a certain somebody didn't call me again tonight. I know that person's busy and I try not to let it bother me...but I really, really, really miss talking to that person.

In a totally unrelated topic, I was in the grocery store this evening and witnessed something straight out of a movie. So I was over in the produce area, deciding what apples to buy, when I overheard a conversation between the store's produce kid and another customer. It went something like this:
Customer: So I hear you've been hassling my brother.
Produce Kid: What the heck are you talking about? I've seen him like twice this summer.
C: That's not what I hear. He works here, ya know. The managers are going to get involved.
PK: Ok, first of all I've never worked with him and second of all, the managers haven't said anything to me.
(customer starts hitting his right fist into his left palm)
C: I think I should just take care of it right now...
PK: Yeah, sure, whatever.

I had to leave at this point because I couldn't keep from cracking up. Here was this douchebag attempting to be a big tough guy, and the produce kid was totally brushing him off. It was hilarious. I was seriously tempted to say something, but I resisted. Probably was a good idea. Anyway, I guess you had to be there.....I'm going to go to bed I think.....did anybody catch the score of the Twins game? What an amazing 9th inning....let's hear it for our pitching staff!

Well.....today was quite a crappy day, I must say. All except from getting a phone call this morning -- which was rather nice -- everything that could've gone wrong did. I didn't get up to my alarm to start my roast in the crock pot, so I didn't get to have that for supper tonight. I went to my interview at Texas Roadhouse....along with like 5 other people. And, although I think the guy liked me....he basically said that, unless something happens, he's not going to hire anybody just for the summer. So I have like a 1% chance of getting that job.....and then it was lightening and storming around here again, so I had to stay couped up in the house all day. Oh, and would you look at that....the Twins are losing.
I dunno...I'm just kind of in a bad mood. I'm sick of not having a job. I hate to admit it, but yes....I do miss SA. *sigh* Right now all I'm looking forward to is seeing Meredith on Saturday. What can I say? I got nothing else that makes me get up in the morning.

Little bit of house cleaning....Nate Lyke got pulled off the site...I kept hoping for some new music to get posted, but it didn't happen. Saienga, you're hanging by a thread...but I know you're a newly wed. Give us all some insight into the married mind, dude!

Well today was kind of a wasted day. I got to Texas Roadhouse and found out that the manager had to run out, so my interview got switched to 2:15 tomorrow afternoon. Dangit. But then Mervyns called in the afternoon and I have an interview there on Monday at 12:30. That job sounds a little crappy...low pay and very few hours, but I figure if I can get two jobs then i'll be alright. Especially if Texas Roadhouse hires me....then I could work there at night and Mervyns during the day. That'd be good. If it happens.
So after that I went to Target and got a 3 pound chuck roast that I'll probably make this weekend. And then I went home. And it wasn't even noon yet. I had planned on going to golf course down the road and hit a bucket of balls, but then it started thundering and lightening so instead I spent the afternoon going through my brother's music library and setting up an extensive playlist for me to listen to while watching baseball play-by-play. And that was my day. Summed up in a paragraph, because nothing happened. Grrrr.....and now to watch the Twinkies.

Well dang...I was just looking at my expenses this week...and I'm on such a tight budget, what with no job and all, that I have to choose between getting pop and a pot roast, or a 12-pack of budweiser. Alas, it looks like there will be no beer in the house for a while. I made a 12-pack last 10 days and had my last ones last night...bummer.
BUT I do have an interview with Texas Roadhouse tomorrow, and Staples called me to come in and fill some extra stuff out. Looks like a job is definitely on the horizon. The problem is, it can't just be any job. It has to provide enough hours and pay to make it worthwhile to stick around here. We will see, I suppose.

Ok, if you read what I had here earlier, go ahead and forget it. Blame it on no phone call from somebody. Blame it on being in a big house by myself. Blame it on me being stupid. Blame it on being lonely. Whatever. I should've waited before I wrote it. My bad.

Yup, just when you think you've got everything figured out....your computer doesn't start up at all and you have to re-install windows...but you can't find the windows CD. You take the computer to Best Buy and they tell you they might be able to do something, but it'll cost 120 bucks and it's a big might. They recommend calling up Compaq and getting the windows CD from them. Except you don't have a mailing address right now, so how are you supposed to get the CD? So you try a little something yourself, even though you have no idea what you're doing. And it works. Amazing. I guess what I learned is that I can't take advantage of having a computer. I wasted two great nights where I was in the perfect writing mood. But now I know I can't waste nights anymore. I gotta buckle down and write....or make a mixed-CD for somebody....I can't decide which I should do.....
