Unfreaking believable. I just wrote an entire post/rebuttal/comment to this StarTribune Story. For those of you out of touch with MN politics and government, our fearless Republican Governor, Tim Pawlenty, is up in arms with the Democrats passing a new Transportation funding bill. which he then vetoed, and then the Democrats and some Repubs over-rided his veto and got it passed. Pawlenty apparently never takes 35W North over the river, because he's rather upset that he got vetoed. He even got the Republicans that crossed party lines to vote for the bill to be removed from their places of leadership within commities, though he claims he isn't reprimanding them.

Anyway, the story linked above is about how he's going to cut EDUCATION and HEALTH CARE funding to help offset the tax increases. Yeah. The tax increase of a wopping 8 cents a gallon, which I think is about what the 'sconi's pay more for their gas.

And so all of the Wallet-Squeezing Republicans were writing comments about how all of the bleeding-heart Liberals are using up all of the government's money on all of our little "projects." Yeah. I don't take to kindly to that, so I composed a reply that went something along the lines of.....

"Seriously. In what culture does it make sense to cut the funding for the education of our youth that will be running our country and who will be the capitals of industry, while also removing Health Care funding most likely going to those who ran the country and were the capitals of industry in years past?

That little "project" you refer to is to make our bridges and roads safer. Take a look to the north of downtown Minneapolis. Or better yet, try to drive to the northern suburbs during rush hour. That whole tragic mess could've been avoided with a little better planning and a lot better funding. 8 cents a gallon? $2.40 for 30 gallons? That's less than a coffee at Starbucks. Why don't we stop with the bandaid fixes and plan for our state's future."

And then for some reason the page automatically refreshed and my comment was deleted.

DAMNIT.

So I re-wrote it as fast as I could before I forgot what I wrote. The second one wasn't nearly as good as the first, but still a decent rant.

And then for some reason the FRICKIN page automatically refreshed AGAIN and my comment was deleted AGAIN.

This time I yelled. Screw my neighbors, that pissed me off.

In other news, I stopped in one of my 4 liquor stores that is known around the cities for its extensive wine selection, which I perused for a house-warming gift, but I also took a look at their beer selection just because. And do you know what I found, and decided I had to get even though I have plenty of beer from the bourbon cask ale still left? Coors Original in bottles. No doubt. I've seen and had Coors original only one other time in my life. 1st year at Wartburg I was at a dorm party, which was actually busted but somehow I didn't get written up, and someone had a six pack of Coors Original tall boys. I haven't seen it since. So I bought a sixer. Couldn't pass up that rarity, even though it's really not good beer at all.

What I'm drinking: Coors Original

I just wrote an entire blog post about my night tonight (the bosses took us out to dinner), spanning about 50% of the Dark Side of the Moon album. And then deleted it. I don't think writing about work is a very good idea. I have to remember that this IS posted a little thing we like to call the internet, and people do get fired over such posts. So nevermind on that. I'll tell ya the story, though, if you ask.

What I'm drinking: Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale.
