Call me a beer snob. Or call me a beer lover. I prefer lover....but I've never been able to understand the people who march into a liquor store, grab a case of Mich. Golden Light, pay and leave. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. How can you continuously pound the same tasteless sludge day after day, month after month and year after year? I want excitement! I want something new! I want to pop open a bottle and experience that new tingle on my tongue each and every time I have a beer!

Seriously though, I probably spend 40 minutes in any given liquor store. Just on Tuesday I went into Apple Valley Liquor store, absolutely set on buying Mad Hatter Pale Ale. But then I saw Red Hook IPA and I realized I hadn't had Red Hook since I was in Denver, and I was in the mood for a hoppy beer. So I took it off the shelf, but then put it back thinking that there might be a sixer in the cooler. No Red Hook IPA, but there was a Red Hook ESB, which I also really like because of how smooth it is. So I went with the ESB, but then on the way out this British beer caught my eye. Alas, it wasn't cold and it was a buck more than the ESB I was holding, so I went with the Red Hook.

Now, that took about 30 seconds to describe, but I milled around that place for at least a half an hour. And it's worth it.

Call me a beer snob. Call me a beer lover.

Either way, I like good beer.
