Sorry I haven't posted in a while...the computers out here have been wacky. So let's see, to put the weekend in a nutshell, I had a lot of fun hanging out with people and bar hopping on Friday, and then drank way too much on Saturday night....literally too much. Too much to the point that I'm not going to drink at all this weekend. Yes, I know. It was bad.
I think I mentioned I sent Ann a flower for Valentine's day. That was a good plan by moi. It's been a while since I did something for Valentine's day like that....since senior year in high school, actually. It would've gone better this year, though, if I would've spelled Ann's name correctly on the card....instead of "Anne" like I have been lately. I'm not sure why I've been doing that, but oh well. I screwed up....I think if I would've been on campus and done that, it would've been bad...but since I'm two states away, I don't think it's that bad...not good, of course, but not that bad.
Today at work it started out looking like a reaaally boring day, waiting for this big important lady to call me back (which she never did) but then editors started calling me up and having me work on stuff. And then I got sent to this press conference for the editor-in-chief (my first one, by the way) and that was interesting. Actually, I did a lot of running around town - literally - today. I had to walk about 3/4 of a mile to get to this place, then stand out in the snowy cold listening to these protesters say their piece, and then walk back to work and tell the editor what I learned....then after work I had to go all the way downtown to find something and then come all the way back home. It doesn't seem like that much work, but it was about an hour and a half round trip to go downtown, look at one place, write down one thing, and then come all the way back. Just a big hassel, but I figured I should do it, since I was nearly downtown anyway.
Now tomorrow I need to interview two people and do two little write-ups, plus sit in on an interview. It's good to be busy and learning stuff, though. Oh, and I got my first paycheck from Westword today.....25 bucks. w00t!
