An update on Missi Buttry: She finished 8th in the olympic trials...check it out here. Kinda disappointing, 'cause I wanted her to make it. But it's not bad for a girl from small town Iowa...plus, she doesn't train year-round like the other runners. She still does cross country and track and whatnot. Whatever.
In other news, I went to Sam's Club with my mom today to buy an Air Conditioner for her school classroom. We where in the store for literally 5 minutes, and when we came out to start the car....it wouldn't start. Like, it wouldn't even crank or attempt to start. It clicked. So, I had to call home (on my cell phone booyea!) but dad was out mowing the lawn and didn't answer. So then I called the church, got my dad's secretary to find the numbers of two of our neighbors (both are members, so she wasn't like looking in the phone book or anything) and then I called my neighbor and had her go outside and get my dad, and then I called the house and talked to him. By this time, I had literally sweated through my pants because it was about 90 degrees out and humid, and we were in the middle of a parking lot. Dad came about 10 minutes later, but not before someone from church saw us there and jumped our car. I, personally, thought the problem was with the starter because it was like one minute the car was perfectly fine and then the next, nothing happened when you turned the key. But I was wrong. The battery was just that dead. Although, I still don't understand why we could start it today to go shopping.....we started it several times, in fact, because we had stopped at other places before Sam's Club. But then when we got out of Sam's Club it magically wouldn't start. I don't know. I was weird. But oh well. Anywho...I gotta work at 9 in the morning, so I'm off to bed. Peace.

Holy Crap! Wartburg College's very own Missy Buttry has made it into the 5,000 meters US Olympic Trials finals! Read about it here. If she makes it to the Olympics, that would be soooo awesome! She was good friends with my roommate freshman year....oh yea.
