For all of you who don't like baseball, disregard the post below.

yea baby! How 'bout them twinkies steppin it up and splitting the series with the chi sox?!! If we don't when the division now, then it is all our fault, not the schedule's. We only play the chi sox 3 more times at home, and then it's all cleveland (a team that openly says they don't expect a winning season for at least another year) and Detroit (who may have the worst record since....what was it...the '67 mets?). Meanwhile, the chi sox have to play us away, boston at boston, KC at home, the yankees at home, and end out the season with 4 games at KC. It's like the baseball gods have blessed the twinkies or something......awesome.

you know when you are trying to figure something out and you are getting really pissed off because you're confused, and then right when you are about to go ask someone for help, you figure it out.....and then you feel really stupid, because it was easy and right there in front of you?

I don't know about the rest of you, but it is awesome to be an uperclassman. To be able to get here and immediatly have fun and be able to hang out with friends and plan your saturday night......*ahem*....it's great. Not that the first year was bad, but it's just nice to get going again and whatnot. Even if it is more expensive to get going so soon.......*ahem*.......but yeah. Needless to say, I dropped a few bucks today. At any rate....I'm just excited and I thought I would share. yay!

Well then, it has been hinted that I should post more...thus I am. But I have to wait until my roommate leaves to cut his hair into a mohawk, 'cause he's distracting me. Ok, thats better. So yea...school has started, but I don't really have any interesting stories to share. One of my big disappointments of late was my placement in band. As you may have known, I was 1st chair of the second band last year. Naturally, this year I had hoped to be last chair of the 1st band. Well those hopes were thrown into the gutter when I talked to the director at the end of last year. Still, I figured I had about a 1 in 100 chance of making that band, but the at the very least staying at the top of the section in the 2nd band. Well, we got the chair placements back yesterday....and I was put in 5th chair. BURN! Ouch. Yess, I understand that I wouldn't have gotten first chair because the first chair played in the top band last year, but didn't want to go on tour with them this year. The thing that really bugs the heck out of me is that the 3rd chair from last year beat me out for 3rd chair. Naturally, I played the good guy and congradulated him on a good audition. His reply was: "Yea, I'm not sure what happened. I only practiced the stuff like 3 times." WHAT THE (proverbial) "F"? So I practice this stuff more than I ever have practiced anything before and the result is a giant shaft in my rear. Seriously. Now, although I said earlier I played the good guy, the director offered a possible scapegoat to my infuriating situation: the need for bass trombones. *whew* So I, of course, offered my services to the man and now I'm in an entirely different section. The only problem is that one of the 1st years is pretty much a master at bass trombone, so she will most likely take the other spot and have to give me some pointers. Thats the latest news for me. As far as classes go, they're all pretty tough. My creative writing class has 2 short stories and 1, 10-minute play due AT THE END OF THE TERM. That means everything is due at once. That also means we don't get a grade until the term is over. What kind of crap is that? I dunno....but I DO know that I am a baaad procrastinater and I NEED deadlines to keep me going. The class brings a whole new level of difficulty for me. More news on that to follow. So, in conclusion: Tofu is NOT the other white meat.

So last night was quite boring and I was worried that there would be more boring weekends like that to come....luckily, though, I went over to another dorm this afternoon and hung out with ppl there. Turns out pretty much all of my buddies from last year either live in that dorm or the one right close by. So that is sweetness....I will most definitly be spending some quality time there....most definitly. In other news, I don't know if I should go to my Astronomy Lab tomorrow. Pretty much everybody says they never go to the first lab. I'm not sure if I should go or not....if I actually KNEW some ppl in the class, then I would call them up. Alas, I do not. I also have creative writing tomorrow....that will be good, I think. At any rate....I must continue on with the night. peace.

YAY! I'm back at the 'burg. It was waaay hot here today (103 degrees).....and that sucked....but I'm better now....I have the AC cranked. Muahahahahaha. At anyrate, it's awesome to get back on ethernet again, let me tell you what. Now, if I didn't have to get up at 9am tomorrow....all would be well in the universe. Unfortunatly, I do. hmmmmm....I thought I had more to post, but I'm pretty sure thats it for now. More to come as the week progresses, I'm sure.
