Last weekend I went to church (not my dad's church) and the pastor was using a story about Christians making terroristic threats in protest to Ozzy Osborne's music because his music promotes demonic views. His point was that we get so caught up in "what's" right that we too often move to violence. I completely agree. However, he agreed that Ozzy's music promotes demonic views. Which I 100% disagree. I mean, yes, he's the prince of darkness...but really? Demonic views? That's a statement of ignorance, and it's been on my mind all week.

Let's look at the beginning lyrics of 3 of his most famous songs -- Crazy Train, Iron Man, and War Pigs. Tell me, do you see any demonic messages here?

Crazy Train:
Crazy, but thats how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe its not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Iron Man:
Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind? Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
Well just pass him there
Why should we even care?

War Pigs:
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of deaths construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds,
oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Quite frankly, I think his lyrics promote a whole heck of a lot better of a message than 99% of the rap music out there today.

Figured this out today...

A Keg of Summit at Surdyks (big liquor store in Minneapolis) is 16 gallons.
Each gallon is 128 ounces.
That's a total of 2,048 ounces per Keg.
A six pack has 72 ounces.
That's 28.4 (we'll call it 29) six packs in a keg.

The Summit keg costs $125.
An average Summit six pack costs $7.50
29 Summit six packs would be a total of $217.50
Thus, you would save $92.50 each keg.

The average price of a kegerator that holds a half-barrel keg (16 gallons) is $700.
A Summit Tap handle is $28.00, making the ensemble a total of $728.

According to my year of beer, I average about 90 six packs a year, meaning I alone would go through 3 kegs a year. Since I'd be sure to have people over, let's double that to be 6 kegs a year.
6 kegs at a savings of $92.50 each is a total savings of $555 a year.

That means by mid-way through my second year of Kegerator ownership, my beer savings would have paid for the Kegertor.

I want one.

Are you kidding me? How is it mid-july already? This summer is absolutely flying by. I think most of us can attest to how busy you become post-college. It's ridiculous.

My oldest brother was in town this past weekend, for a fishing trip with some old friends. Since the only day I'd really see him was on Thursday when he flew in, I decided to take a half-day off, pick him up from the airport, go to the Summit Brewery tour, and then meet J back at my parent's place and have dinner there all of us together. That was J's first time meeting the parents. It went really well....of course, being liberal with the consumption of wine and beer always makes everything easier!

Here are some highlights from the brewery tour. For all of you who were up in arms about me going, I'd totally do it again. There were guys there who said it was their 10th time doing it.

My bro got me a bottle opener I was eye-ing. Notice how its convenient placement.
