Sorry Saienga, I haven't looked at your site in a while....needless to say, you've been reinstated to the link list :-)
One other quick note.....the infamous Crazy Crane Ian is married. MARRIED! He just started dating the girl this fall....got engaged in January and is now MARRIED! ARGH!

OH man....so today was a long one....I had to get up at stinkin 7 a.m. to get ready to get on the 7:30 bus to get downtown and do my part of a huge story that all the writers and editors are doing on the strip of road called Broadway. It's a road that extends like 30 miles. We all did at least one store, restaurant, shop, or club on the strip at various different times. My part was the Civic Center bus station at 8 a.m. It's a pretty stark and depressing story, but it will be a good contrast to some of the other stories....plus I was just giving a good spot story of what was going on when I was there. It'll be a good story....just in time for all of the people here for All-star weekend. Ok, people want this computer....let me just say.....Meredith, I miss hanging out with you....but that phone call this evening was a lot of fun :-)

Well, today it finally happened -- I've been published by a major newspaper. Check it out here it's the second one on the page - the boring one. And then, when I got to work today, I had a message in my snail-mail box from the editorial administrator that I had to fill out the freelancer form in order to get PAID for my stories. Awesome! I guess they don't realize that I'd do this for free. Although I'd imagine that for a story of that length it has to be only like 20 bucks or something. Oh well, it's still cool.
This evening, I had one of those sudden realizations. I was riding back from north Denver on the light rail, when we went over some roads on a bridge and suddenly the I could see the mountains in the dim light.....and I was like...."Dude, I'm in COLORADO!" Sometimes I forget that when I'm all caught up in my daily routine and thinking about what's next. It was fun remembering that the mountains are always right there.
In other news, I found internet checkers on my computer yesterday and it has since saved me from many a boring day. I was getting sick of playing solitair at work, but now I have checkers to fill my time. It's great. Tomorrow the entire editorial staff at Westword is going to be working on one giant piece for the NBA All-star weekend. (Yes, the all-star game is in Denver this year) The piece is about the street Broadway in Denver. We all take a little store or restaurant or whathaveyou in different places and at different times on the strip. I have the bus station at stinkin 8 a.m. That means I have to get all dressed and ready by 7:30 to catch the bus down there. And then I have to come all the way back to the apartments to type up my quotes from my recorder. And then I have to go all the way back to Westword, which is only like 5 blocks from the bus station. Unbelievable. I would normally leave early after all of that, but we have an assignment meeting tomorrow at 3 p.m., so if i get a story then I'll have to interview a person before I leave because I won't be back in the office until Monday afternoon and the stories are due on Tuesday. *Sigh* Such stress after absolutely nothing all week. Oh well. Peace.

oh, and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and check out my site meter.....rolled over to 7,000 baby!

So I was supposed to have a column in the Wartburg Trumpet this week, by my sources on campus say it didn't make it in. Hmm...that's a first for me....but then, it wasn't the greatest column anyway. A little bit of propaganda......oh well. Today I FINALLY got an email from Ann. Man.....if I didn't get one today or by the end of tomorrow....I was ready to be done caring. But now she hooked me again. *sigh* Oh well. I still think I'm going to take out her picture from the frame on my desk at work and replace it with Meredith's. 'Cause meredith's picture will at least make me smile, instead of make me frusterated like Ann's does.
I think I mentioned about how the Wartburg folk out here were thinking about throwing a nice sized kegger....well that idea has been snuffed by stupid girls. They were all worried that it wouldn't work because the liquor stores aren't open on Sundays and so we would have to get the keg on Sat. So I'm way bummed. And now I don't want to just get beer....'cause that's boring. Good, yes, but boring for something like a Super Bowl party. Like last year we had that big Margarita Party where I had my first extended period where I didn't remember anything. So I want to do something like that...but we don't have a blender. I think I'll just email one of my roommates from Wartburg and ask for a good liquor/soda recipe. Then I can just drink out of a two-liter.
Today I went into work for our weekly writer's staff meeting. I wish I was more relaxed around them, because then I could've taken part in the celebration of our newspaper surviving yet another lawsuit against us. Our head editor had spent the previous week in court and I guess the judge threw out the case. So we had Coronas and Jello shots for our meeting. Good times. Then, one of the editors sent me the edited version of the little piece I wrote for this next issue. He edited the heck out of it....so that was disappointing, but he still kept most of the original stuff. And I learned from that and now I think I understand more what he is looking for. Hopefully. Since today I emailed him another little short blurb. I'd like it if he didn't have to change so much this time. Ok, I'm going to play snood for an hour and listen to music....even though I should finish up my homework. hah.

Well, another weekend has come and gone. Friday night I went to a Denver University Hockey game. A girl here is interning there and got some cheap tickets for us and we sat in the student section. It was pretty fun....good to get to a hocky game. It would've been better, though if there was less scoring. With 10 minutes left in the FIRST PERIOD Denver was winning 4-2. Unbelievable. We left half way through the third period and the score was 8-4. That was the highest scoring game I have ever been to. Saturday everybody pretty much left here to go to Breckenridge to go watch snow sculpting or something like that. I, on the other hand, had yet to go to a musuem to fulfill this stupid museum visit thing for one of our classes. So I, alone of course, went down to the Colorado History Museum and learned some stuff about the settlement of Colorado. It was alright. Then, I went to go buy a new bus pass for Feb. but the stupid station was closed, so I decided to go downtown to a bar to see if I could catch the end of the Gophers game. On the bus downtown I got into an interesting conversation with this old dude that was high. He kept singing "It's saturrrdaaaay. And I AM BAKED! But I gots no money, but I AM BAKED!" It was pretty funny...and then he started cursing me out for being an evil white kid. Then he left. Crazy, I know. The rest of the day was pretty boring. Half of the people that went to breckenridge got caught in bad weather and the trip that normally takes 1.5 hours took them about 5. Unbelievable. So when they got back, one of the girls and another dude and me went to a bar. It turned out to be a Czech bar...and they had a band and we drank a lot and it was fun. And then on the way back we decided to finally visit the gay bar across the street from our apartments...because they have $1 draws all the time. It was decent....the $1 draws were only 8 ounce glasses though, so it was 2 bucks for a pint.
Now today I gotta get all caught up on homework and basically be lazy. Ah the good life. Peace.
