Sorry posting has been horrible this week...but it's been busy, what with Christmas and having the 2YG around and all. So I'll give you the run-down of the week.

I had lunch with the friend from Rockford. Although we did talk about his time at the Air Force Academy for most of the meal, I think he really just wanted to meet up before we all part ways forever. He has to serve, you know, before he gets on with his life...although it kind of sounded like he might do 20 years before he gets out. Not because he likes the military, but because the career path he's chosen will make him be in for 10 years...so why not do another? Who knows. The lunch was good, though, and we got caught up.

The 2YG came out to Lakeville with her family on the night of the 22nd and she spent the night at our house (just her, not her family. They stayed in a hotel). It was soooo good to have her around for a while. Amazing. She met the family, of course, and that went well. And I met her family, and they were nice. The next day I spent the entire day with her family....at the Mall of America and then at a Gophers basketball game. The day would've been great, but I was feeling a little sick all day and wasn't doing so hot....until about 2 p.m. and I started to feel better and was good until the end of the game. Then I got a headache and it all fell apart from there....ending with me puking in a garbage can in the hallway of their hotel. YES! It wasn't so bad, though, because it was as the 2YG was taking me home and so her parents didn't see it. And I made her promise not to tell her family, because I felt stupid about it....so if any of you know her parents....keep it a secret, ok? Thanks! I also felt bad because it was a terrible ending to a good visit by her. And I really couldn't kiss her goodbye...for obvious reasons. Sucky.

Then we had Christmas, which, in a pastor's family, means a bunch of church and no actual Christmas. We're not celebrating until New Year's day. On Christmas day we went to South Dakota to visit my grandparents and stay there for a few days. Conviniently enough, the 2YG lives less than an hour away from where my grandparents live. So, I got to spend yesterday afternoon with her (which was simply glorious) and then my parents took me, the 2YG, and my grandparents out to a really nice dinner. (also glorious!) She got along really well with my grandparents...so that was fun. I was a little worried about that dinner because I wasn't sure how everybody would act and how she would take it all. But she did really well. Better than I could've ever hoped for. She definitely made a lasting impression on my family. Yay!

But, of course, all good things have to come to an end. The 2YG had to leave earlier than I wanted because there was some bad fog last night. And I was bummed. And now I'm bummed because it will be a while before I get to see her again....ok, not that long (New Year's Eve), but still.

Now tomorrow is my first day back at the most dreaded place in Lakeville. Yep, you guessed it, I have to work at SA. I guess I don't HAVE to work....but I do need to make money and working at SA gives me money. It's not even extra money, if there is such a thing. My bank account is just so low right now that I absolutely have to work. I hated not being able to give amazing Christmas presents this year. I always love to pick out the PERFECT presents and see the looks on people's faces when they open the up. It's like the feeling I get when people read a newly created work of mine. Even if they disagree with it. I just like to share.

Oh, and by the way, (not that you probably even care) I'm going to re-submit that short story I wrote earlier this year for the Winter Term version of our literary magazine. I hope to have at least one more done by then...but we'll see. It may not happen with my senior course and another creative writing course I'm taking this next term. Plus, I've noticed it's harder to think of story ideas when I'm in a relationship with someone. I know I've mentioned this before. Very strange. I need to get over that. And I will.

At any rate. I hope you all are having a great day and all that cool stuff. I just found out that my roommate got a digital camera for Christmas, and so did the 2YG...so some pictures should be going back onto here once I get back to school.....oh joy!
