Yeah, I was in trouble the other night. We finally talked about it on the way to dinner last night and it was my fault. Live and learn, I suppose.

The date last night went great. Man, I have so much fun with her! It's the most fun I've had with a girl. Ever. We went to dinner, then a hockey game, then coffee -- except I don't like coffee, so I had apple cider. Awesome.

Now I'm contemplating going back to bed for 40 minutes before the hawks/gophers game starts. This year is the year we finally win!

It's great how many times I've started posts lately with "Well, our internet is finally working again..." and yet that's happened again. It is absolutely unbelievable. Apparently our network isn't capable of handling the new picture album feature on Facebook...so now our internet is working once again, and Facebook is "temporarily" blocked. Yeah. And this is on a COLLEGE campus. Where is our President in the wake of this latest disaster, you may be asking? In Japan. Just about the farthest away that he could possibly be.

In other news, I'm apparenly in trouble with the 2YG and I have no idea why. I saw the two absolute polar opposites of her today, from awesome to terrible. So whatever. I thought about emailing her and ranting about her being a bitch to me when I haven't done anything to deserve it...but I figured I'd just ride it out and see where it goes from here. Whatever.

In yet another change of topic, one of my prof's in the most useless class ever (yet it's required for my major and actually, I suppose it has taught me a little about column writing) anyway, the prof. decided to cancel our last big project, which was worth nearly half our grade. It's pretty sweet because she never explained how to do it and so nobody had worked on it yet...and it was supposed to be due in like 2 weeks. So that huge worry in the back of my mind has been whisked away. Now I only have like 2 smaller projects to finish, one more test, and then 2 comprehensive finals. This is by far the easiest semster I've had while at college...even Fall Term of Freshman year when I only had 3 courses (our credits work differently than your guys' so don't even attempt to translate that into something understandable. The max. course load here is 4.5 classes and after that you pay extra.) Oh yeah, and speaking of Fall Term Freshman Year, do you remember that big paper I did in two nights (refer to some of my first posts on this website)? I totally left a 15 page research paper off until the last possible two days, and then got the highest grade in the class and everybody was way pissed at me. Well, after that Term, the prof. asked if she could use my paper as an example and I said sure. Yesterday I was working in the library and getting an item on reserve for a student (there's a place behind the desk were prof.'s put stuff on reserve for students to check out) and I noticed a few sample papers for that same class I took freshman year. Guess whose paper is still being used as an example? Booyeah. I win again.

So that's my story. Tomorrow is an easy day for me. I just have to write a christmas card for somebody in band, and then take the 2YG out to dinner and a hockey game. That's another reason I don't want to get in a fight right now. I've been looking forward to this date for nearly a month now and I don't want to screw it up because of some trivial piece of crap. Anyway. Whatever. I'm going to bed. Peace out.

Alright, it's been updated. You can check out that column online here It's pretty decent...although I can't believe the online dude put the other column in the OP/ED spotlight for the website, when my column held the prominent spot on the hardcopy. Whatever. I guess sometimes you gotta throw the other guy a bone

I went to the library after my band council meeting/dinner this evening. The intent was to write a column that's due for Thursday and finish my stupid resume. Well, when I got there I realized the general feeling in the library was not conducive to my creative thoughts. Normally I could've pounded out a column there and it would've been fine....but this column needs to be outside of my "comfort level." So I'm doing the whole thing lyrically. Rhyming it. Each paragraph will be in a AABBA or ABBA rhyme scheme. Of course, it will change from paragraph to paragraph...i.e. CDDC, EFFE, GHHG, etc. At any rate, that's what I'm going to be working on. And it wasn't going to happen. I saw that right away. So I came back to my room.

The reason why I share all of this is because all I could think about as I entered my room was how great a beer would taste. In fact....there. I just opened one. During the past month or so, I either had zero beer in my room or only got a sixer for the weekend. But not this past weekend. Nope, I said "screw it" and got lots of beer for little money. The liquor store was trying to get rid of the Icehouse, so I got a 30-pack for a mere $10. You do the math. So now I've been able to drink a few beers whenever. It's great. Last night I had 3. And tonight? Well, the 2YG is at work until 10. So I should be A-OK. Hehehe.

In other news, the column that I wrote for this week's paper (that I honestly thought was really weak and poorly written, and I wasn't just being modest) it's gotten some really great reviews. Meaning, people have actually read it and absorbed what I said. And it probably made them actually think a little bit. Normally when people make a comment about one of my columns, it goes a little something like this:

Them: "Hey man, I saw your picture on the Op/Ed page. Nice job!"
Me: "Oh yeah? You read it? Whatja think?"
Them: "Oh no, I didn't read it. I just saw that you wrote something."

I mean seriously. How hard is it to read? It kind of pisses me off. Yeah. But I'll put the link to it on here as soon as the paper website gets updated. This one ties directly into the college, but even if you're not from Wartburg, you'll understand my message.

Ok, now I really need to get going on my column. peace.

Ok, my internet has been out for pretty much a week now. Every once in a while I got on to make a little post, but it has been pretty touch and go. I don't even know why I said what I did on that last post. It was kind of late at night....meh...what can I say?
Today I really, really, really should be working on some big projects that are going to be due soon, but Wartburg Men's Soccer was playing in the second round of the national playoffs today and I had to go and watch it. It was stinkin freezing out there and the wind was terrible...but oh well. We played Chicago....and beat them! After 2 OT's and then a shootout....final was 4-2, I believe. It was a good time. Yesterday I sat out in the rain and watched them play some team from Wisconsin. We were so obviously better than them, so it was frustrating to be down 1-0 at half. But...the guys came back strong and stomped them 6-1.
Hmmm...I think that's all I have to update as of now. Peace out.
