Last night our room threw a huge party. I mean huge. It's homecoming weekend and we decided to just throw caution to the wind and do it up right. We made a bunch of Jungle Juice in one of those big gatorade containers, and then made a juice and fruit and gin drink. The jungle juice had a bottle of everclear in it, and the gin and fruit drink had a liter of gin in it. And now both of those are gone this morning....and most of the people here had beer or their own drinks. I was rather worried that we were gonna get busted and have to pay a huge ass fine, so I was across the hall and in our neighbor's room most of the time. Partly because of the getting busted deal.....but mostly because there was a girl there that I'm pursuing. It's tough, 'cause she doesn't drink or party or go out on the weekends, so the only way I can go over there is if I have an excuse. And it's tough to think up new excuses all the time, ya know?
So anyway, we had this huge party and it was getting really loud, and so I convinced this girl to go and walk around with me...and so she did and I did my usual "walk about" and visited a bunch of different people....some of whom this girl actually knew, so that was crazy. And then she was getting tired (it was midnight) and so I walked her back to her room....and then went back to mine, where the party was still going strong.
But I still wasn't really comfortable about being there 'cause the RA's were going to go on rounds in a couple of minutes, so I convinced one of my roommates to go sit outside with me. So we went out and sat on a step and talked for about 10 minutes. Both of us were pretty trashed and weren't really thinking straight, so he was drinking out of a cup that had some mixed drink in it, and I had a cup of Jungle Juice. Well, the RA's finished their rounds and came of the door where we were sitting there drinking and talking....and it could've been really bad. But they just asked to see our ID's, and since we were both 21 and they couldn't really prove what was in our cups, they let us go....but warned us and said if security walked by, we would get written up.
So then we decided to move on and walk around again, and we ran into about 10 people outside standing together, all of whom we know. Nothing really happened with them, until we saw a pizza delivery guy pully up to the dorm near us (this was probably at about 1:30 am) and we ran over to see if he'd give us some pizzas for free. Long story short, we ended up with 2 large pizzas for a total of $5.00. It was awesome....and then I was tired and went back to our room....from then on it gets a little fuzzy, but somehow me and about 4 or 5 of my roommates ended up getting in a huge wrestling match, and all I really remember is me being tangled up with a couple of other guys and then the couch being tipped over on top of us and glasses of half-empty jungle juice getting spilled on us.....and then a sleeping roommate came out and yelled at us to shut up and go to bed. So we did. And that was all in one night. If I didn't have to wake up at 7 a.m. to get ready for band worship tomorrow, I'd do the same thing tonight...but, alas, I need to be responsible. Oh well.

This weekend is homecoming, as I'm sure I mentioned before. There's at least one person coming back to Wartburg that I haven't seen since last year...and there will be parties galore....but after last weekend, I don't really feel like drinking....plus, I've decided that I've spent waaaay too much money so far this year on beer. SO I'm torn. I really really really want to go out and have fun...but it really isn't too much fun when everybody else is drinking and you're not. I dunno. Whatever.
This week is super busy for me, plus there's that whole homecoming feeling. You know the one....like in high school. You just want to slack off and do nothing...but you can't. For example, I have to read a 400 page book this week and write a paper for it, due at 2:30 next monday morning. Then, I also have a column I need to write for the newspaper, due Friday at 5pm. But my possible internship wants a writing sample for me and what I have right now isn't really enough to be a good writing sample....but at least with this next column, I'll have two published columns and then two essays.....but I think it will be good enough. I hope. They're all pretty much the same style too. Which is unfortunate....but I tend to write the same way all the time, even when I try not to at the beginning of the piece. Whatever. I'll fill ya in as I get more info....peace out.

Tonight was the epitome of why college is so great. I had so much fun....and only a few things we did were against the law. Basically, it was just going out and having fun with my friends and talking with people and seeing people i hadn't seen since last year. I didn't even really drink. I mean, yea...I DID go to a keger and I DID buy a cup....but I seriously only had like 3 cups. And then I went to the bar later and had some beer there...but it was over a time period of like 4 or 5 hours. That's not going to affect me at all.
Tonight was one of those nights where I proved you can have fun and not get totally wasted....yes, you do have to go to parties though....'cause otherwise you don't meet anybody....but you don't have to drink a lot.
Anyway, I just thought I'd post because i just got back from walking around with 2 of my roommates....doing a little tom foolery....and one of the guys decided to try and tackle a small tree. Well, he dove at it and it literally stopped him in mid-air and he crashed to the ground. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time....ahahahaha.......oh man.
Yea, tomorrow I may add some more to this....but I have to do a tooooon of homework, 'cause I had an awful hangover Saturday until almost 6pm....wowzas! I know....that's why I didn't feel the need to drink tonight. So it goes. Ha.
