Wow. Today was a day of clothes. I went shopping with my mom today as my birthday present. We went to Southdale, where they had massive amounts of clearance racks in the Marshall Fields store. Yeah...we hit it up big time. I was able to get 4 shirts and a tie for about 100 bucks....normally it would've cost 350 bucks. I was pleased. And I got some really cool shirts....one of them was a dress shirt that I thought would look good with my black suit. It does cross the line for me a little bit, 'cause the tie is pink, but wow. It looks great against the black. Then, later this evening my brother and his wife got back from the East coast and they gave me my b-day present from my Aunt and Uncle who live in New Hampshire, plus the two presents from them. Can you guess what they were? Yup, three shirts. Good stuff. Finally my wardrobe is a little more than black and orange Wartburg shirts....although one of the new ones is orange, it's 10x cooler than a wartburg shirt. And I have a lot of cool "going out" or "weekend" shirts. Yup.

My other birthday present was the new Harry Potter book. I am both impressed and disappointed in the quality of the book. From an author's standpoint, it's awesome. From an editor's standpoint, it's unacceptable. Obviously the publisher was attempting to get the book out ASAP, for even though I'm only 200 pages in, I've already found 3 grammerical errors. One was using "was" instead of "were," one arranged two words incorrectly so that the sentence was a question, instead of the intended statement, and the other one was the misuse of an apostrophe. And I was able to find these when I was just reading it for the first time....which is never a very thorough reading....mostly skimming. I don't fault the author, only the editor. The story deserves a better grammerical representation. And that's my beef for the evening. Good night.
