It's crazy to say, but I think I had a better time today than I did on my 21st birthday. I went to church this morning...even though I was way tired and it was kinda hot...but it was good to go to church. After that my parents and I went to the Twins game, where they got slaughtered...but the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs was pretty fun. We were down 11-4 with nobody on. Long story short, we lost 11-7 when Jaque Jones struck out with the bases loaded. It was one great almost comeback. I really didn't think we'd win, but it was definitely fun to watch.
After that we went to the Rock Bottom Brewery for supper (I noticed I was wearing the exact same clothes as last year's birthday...so we took a similar pic as you'd find on our fridge)...and that was some good food. The combination of a free appetizer coupon and the free beer they gave me, my parents only had to pay for 2 beers and 2 appetizers for 3 people. What a great deal! After that I was way tired. I just wanted to take a loooong nap....but then on the way home I got a phone call from Saienga, of all people. Turns out he and Alicia were back in Lakeville and he wanted to know if I wanted to hang out. Well of course! The only problem was....we couldn't think of a place that had both a real bar and pool or darts in the general area. I'd say we drove around for about an hour and a half before we settled on BW3. The bartender there was a jerk and we weren't impressed, so one giant beer later we decided we'd either venture into the Lakeville's VFW or Babe's. Upon further review, there were several cars in Babe's parking lot and only like 1 in the VFW's. Babe's it was. For those of you that have never been to downtown Lakeville, Babe's looks like the typical local dive on the outside. I must admit, though, the inside was 100x better than I ever thought it would be. It was better than decent...and the drink prices werent' that bad either. It was like Saienga, me, and 10 other people and that was it. But it was still good.
But yeah, it was a really good day. I mean...it would've been nice to have my brothers there, but it still was good. ooooh! and I got the newest Harry Potter book from my parents. That was one of two things on my birthday list. I really didn't expect to get either of my two things. The other is an old fashioned Church Key. They're my absolute fav. for opening beers. Now tomorrow I'm going to go clothes shopping with my mom as a part of their birthday present to me. After that I'm going to hang out with Steph....which probably means going shopping again. It's like the one time in the year where i actually shop for myself. woohoo!
