I'm writing a proposal for my comp. class that makes fun of the Wartburg "Be Orange" campaign. A key part of this is the information regarding how much the college spends on "Be Orange" mints and banners. So one would think that the college cares enough about these that they would know a little about it, right? wrong. First I went to the presidents office, thinking the 'ol Jack R. Ohle would know about the stuff because he's the one that instituted the slogan. Well that office told me to go down to the marketing office---which makes sense. The marketing office had no idea for either of those things...they told me to ask the info desk about the mints and ask the president's office about the banners. When I told them i had just come from there, marketing was stumped and told me that the bill for the banners had probably gone through human resources and that I should go there. Human Resources told me, rather upedly I think, that they only deal with payroll.........so the banner trail ended with a dead end. Following the mint trail, I went to the info desk. This is where I just got mad at the college. The info desk knew the answer....THEY KNEW THE ANSWER!!!! but the lady wouldn't tell me, she said food services had to tell me...so I trudged to yet another office and asked them about the mints. The person at the desk went to ask a manager and the manager came out all huffy. I think he knew I was going to make fun of the mints in this paper, because he tried to get rid of me as fast as possible. He said he had no idea, the bill hadn't come, it's a new thing, and they wouldn't know. hmmmmm......interesting that the ppl that ordered the mints have no idea....not even an estimate...as to how much these stupid mints cost. So after all that, I came up with nothing......NOTHING!!!!
