Tomorrow I get to start an exciting venture with Dan -- the trombone player I've mentioned a few times earlier this year. You see, Dan is in the unfortunate predicament of wanting to have the occasional social drink, but not knowing what he likes. Thus far, he has stuck with the various schmirnoff and Mike's beverages, but doesn't really like them. He's tried various domestic beers and doesn't like them either. And he really doesn't want to go the mixed drink route just yet. What he wants is something that is a socially acceptable drink...and it's easy. So tomorrow we're going by the liquor store after band. I'm trying to think of a beer that a new beer drinker will like. I'm not sure if that's possible. Keep in mind, folks, I'm not talking about buying a 30 of 'stones. I'm talking about a $7 or $8 six-pack. I highly doubt what I like in beer will match his tastes. I've formed my palate over 3 or 4 years. I started off hating beer, and now I've been known to stand in front of the beer cooler in a liquor store for 30 minutes, while trying to decide what I want to go with.
At any rate, I think I'm going to recommend that he go with Hornsby's (hard apple cidar) for the time being. The Waverly liquor store doesn't have a varied enough stock for a beginner. If you have any suggestions, help me out. I think he could easily become a beer drinker, he just needs the proper introductions. What do you think?
In other news, I had originally planned to get absolutely wasted tomorrow night for the first time since October 1st. But when I voiced my idea to the 2YG, it didn't go over well. She didn't say I couldn't do it, but it was one of those...."Oh. I thought we were going to hang out on Friday. That's fine. I guess I'll just do something by myself." Needless to say, I've since changed my plans and have set up a date of sorts. Oh well. She has to go to a musical until 10ish so I can still drink a little and hang-out with people up until then. So it goes, I guess.
Well, I should probably try to read some World Lit. for a while. *sigh* whatever.
