DU......DU HAST.....DU HAST MICH.....So I was just walking back from work at the library (taking a shortcut through the walkways and parking lots) when I saw a little bunny rabbit standing in the parking lot about 10 feet ahead of me. It had heard me, but was standing stock still....apparently hoping I would pass or not see it. But I stopped in my tracks and stood as still as I could. I don't know what I was thinking would happen, but something amazing did. The rabbit started slowly creeping towards me and eventually stopped about 2ft away (within kicking distance). I don't know if they require movement or sound to notice things, but I stood there next to that rabbit for a good 5 minutes just staring at it before it crept away. As soon as I started walking it streaked away....so I guess it wasn't that timid or anything, 'cause it still was scared when I finally DID move and make some noise. But for that 5 minutes when we were standing that close to each other......it was the coolest thing ever. Wowzas.
