Why does every bad thing happen to me??? Last night, someone pushed open a door and it slammed into my head and broke my glasses. I got them fixed today and then was happy, untill about 11:30 tonight. And then I got the worst nose-bleed Wartburg College has seen in many many many years. I was watching "signs" with a bunch of people when it happened and I ran to the bathroom to get some toilet paper. Now, a few of you may have witnessed my nose bleeds, but for those of you that haven't, my nose doesn't just bleed....it litterally streams out. So I was bleeding all over and it was pretty gross....but it DIDN'T stop! I started getting a little.....actually REALLY nervous and had friend stay with me. Pretty soon he called security for me...and then I started bleeding out of BOTH NOSTRILS!!!! (actually I found out that it had just pooled over and was draining out of the other one too). I've heard many methods to stop a nose-bleed...one of which is to tilt your head back. Well ladies and gentlemen, I tried that but then started to choke on all the blood...and stopped tilting. By then, like flies to poo, a large group of people had gathered and I was getting rather worried. Another friend let me duck into his room and hang out there and try to calm down. The next 10 minutes is kinda sketchy for me...security came, and the friend that called talked to him. Then the RAs on duty stopped in and wanted to know what I wanted to do and if I should go to the hospital or not. Hmmm....hospital for just a nose-bleed??!?!? I decided that I should switch toilet paper wads and then decide. (for convience purposes, the friend that called is Ian and then friend that let me sit in his room is Ben) So Ian and Ben followed me into the bathroom to make sure I didnt' pass out or anything. Knowing that this wad was going to me FULL of blood, I warned Ian and Ben, but they assured me they were fine. Well, Ben took one look at the 2 inch blood clot coming out of my nose and left the bathroom. Needless to say, it kept on bleeding and I went to the ER. So I'm in the ER without my glasses, hands and face caked with blood, answering questions about where I live. The doctor came into the room and looked at the situation and went to work. He tried to clean it....it bleed.....he used some chemicals to cauterize it and then sprayed some nasal stuff in there....and it started to bleed again.....he started to put some gauze in and it bled like a banshee.....so then he had me pinch it shut while he thought of something new. So he started to cauterized it again (this crap burns like hell and it was liquid and ran down my throat and sat there burning and burning at my eys were watering and......uuuuuuhhh....so it stopped and he crammed a TON of coated gauze up my nose....about as far up without it killing me...and then coated my nose with Iodine and taped the gauze in. I have to keep it in until monday or tuesday.
So I'm sitting here, with a yellow, taped up nose, with a strange liquid seeping out of the taped and clear side. FAAAAAAAANTABULOUS! So that was my night and I still feel like crap. I took a picture of my ugly face, though....I should have taken some of the bloody sinks....but I was too scared.....good night, and sleep for me, because I dont' think I will for a while....stinking leaky nose....
