Last night....last night...how do I describe last night? Well, it was a big Christmas surprise from the 2YG. We drove down to Iowa City (well, actually Coralville, but pretty much Iowa City) and every 20 minutes she gave me a present. The big present, though, wasn't until we got to the mall in Coralville. You see, when I took her to a hockey game earlier on this fall, I had mentioned how cool it would be to ride on a zamboni. Yup. That's right. You guessed it. She swung a deal with the ice skating rink folks and got me a ride on the zamboni when they were getting the ice ready for the public skating, after a hockey game. It was pretty awesome, I must say. I asked the zamboni driver a zillion questions. After that we went out to eat, and then returned to the rink to skate. I wasn't super excited about the skating because I haven't skated in literally 12-15 years....so I was sure I would be that lame dude shuffling by the boards, while the little kids zip by. And, the 2YG used to be a figure skater. But amazingly enough, I was fine on the ice. After a half hour or so, I got my legs under me and I was pretty decent. So that was fun.
