tonight I was working at SA (for the sixth straight night) when the other register suddenly crashed and the other dude working had to call the help line before he got it back and running. Meanwhile, I was having to deal with a rush of people and had something like 7 or 8 people in my line...and then I got a $100 bill, which I'm supposed to put in the safe immediatly. Well, that obviously didn't happen, 'cause I was trying to rush through all of the customers, who weren't very patient. About 10 minutes later, we finally got the other register up and running again and the store was empty again. At this point I looked down at my register and didn't see the $100 bill. Panic. Fear. Dispair. Anger. Doom. All were felt by me in that instant. But there was nothing I could do about it. The other dude didn't remember seeing me put it in the safe, and I sure as heck didnt' remember either.
Fortunately, though, when I closed down about 8 hours later, I WASN'T short $100. Thank goodness.........but we did have 3 drive-offs today. Damn hippies.
